The purpose of the USGA Handicap System™ is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling golfers of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis.
The Texas Golf Association works in cooperation with the United States Golf Association (USGA) on handicapping matters for golf clubs located in the state of Texas. The TGA is proud to provide the Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN), the most widely recognized and credible handicapping service in the United States. GHIN is used by more than 12,400 clubs and over 2 million golfers, which makes it the largest handicap service provider in the world.
For your convenience, the online USGA Handicap System manual and all information pertaining to handicaps including FAQs may be accessed under “Resource Center” link to the right. The TGA is proud to provide GHIN (Golf Handicap and Information Network), a timely and quality handicap service for member clubs. The GHIN service is an all-inclusive package, which helps your club to interact with and promote the TGA.
Your club receives extensive paper reports (including "Alphabetical Listing," "Differential Listing," “Most Improved Golfer Listing,” etc.…) for member information and club administration, as well as plastic membership cards and handicap labels. There is no charge for computer software, and all phone calls by your computer are to a local or 800 number.
Being part of the GHIN network allows your club and its member’s access to more than 12,400 clubs with over 2 million golfers.
Your club can inquire at any time to obtain the most current USGA Handicap Index® for any golfer in the network. Your club’s members can post their scores at any GHIN club in the nation and scores will be promptly routed back to their home clubs.Have you taken the time to analyze, REALLY analyze, your current handicap arrangement?
If you use or are planning to install an "in-house" handicap service other than GHIN, your members are being denied the advantages and technology that only GHIN can offer. For your convenience, all information pertaining to GHIN may be accessed using the links below or if you would like additional information please contact one of the TGA representatives listed under "Contact Information."
